Theory
The 6/9 chord adds a major ninth to the 6 chord. C 6/9 = C-E-G-A-D, F 6/9 = F-A-C-D-G. Entirely consonant, without seventh, it offers bright and rich sound. Widely used in jazz as final tonic chord, it can replace a simple major chord to enrich harmony. The fifth can be omitted for compact voicing.
