Do I need to create an account?
No, no registration is required. You can use AutoChords immediately and freely.
Usage
How do I use generator mode?
On the home page, select:
- Your instrument of choice in the navigation bar
- The root note (C, D, E, etc.)
- The chord quality (Major, Minor, 7th, etc.)
- Optional extensions (7th, suspensions, extensions)
The diagram displays automatically!
What is dictionary mode?
Dictionary mode lets you quickly navigate between the most common chords (Major, Minor, 7th, Maj7) without configuring all the details. Perfect for exploring and discovering new chords!
How do I switch between Latin and Anglo-Saxon notation?
Click theicon in the navigation bar, then choose your preferred notation (Do/Re/Mi or C/D/E). Your choice is automatically saved.
Instruments
Which instruments are supported?
AutoChords currently supports 4 instruments:
- Guitar: Diagrams with multiple positions on the neck
- Piano: Keyboard view with keys to play
- Ukulele: Positions adapted to 4 strings
- Charango: Specific chords for this Andean instrument
Why multiple positions for guitar?
Each position offers a different sound and comfort. Open positions (open strings) are easier for beginners, while barre positions allow more mobility on the neck.
Technical
Does the site work on mobile?
Yes! AutoChords is fully responsive and adapts perfectly to smartphones and tablets.
Which browsers are supported?
AutoChords works on all modern browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. We recommend always using the latest version of your browser.
Can I use AutoChords offline?
Currently, AutoChords requires an internet connection. An offline version is being considered for a future update.
