Theory

The 13♯11 chord omits the fifth. C13♯11 = C-E-B♭-D-F♯-A. This chord reflects the complete Lydian dominant scale (IV mode of melodic minor). The augmented eleventh avoids clashing with the third while offering Lydian color. Maximum extension of the dominant chord without ♭9, ♭5 or ♯5 alterations.
