Melodic minor - Ukulele
The melodic minor scale combines the best of major and minor scales. Its unique character comes from its different ascending and descending forms, offering great melodic flexibility.

Theoretical construction
The ascending melodic minor scale raises the 6th and 7th degrees of the natural minor scale. It thus combines a minor third (minor character) with major sixth and seventh (major character), avoiding the augmented interval of the harmonic minor. In modern jazz, the ascending form is often used in both directions, creating new harmonic possibilities. The modes of this scale (Dorian b2, Lydian augmented, Mixolydian b13, etc.) are widely used in jazz improvisation.
